Terms of use
Last updated 19 October 2026
SafeUpload lets companies ask their customers for documents through a private link and authorization code, instead of email attachments. These terms apply to everyone who uses it: company staff who sign in, and customers who open a link. By using SafeUpload, you agree to them.
Accounts and access
- Company accounts are set up by us. Staff can sign in only with a work email address that has been approved for their company.
- Customers do not need an account. A customer can open only the request a company sent them, with the code that came with it.
- Keep sign-in codes and authorization codes to yourself. Anyone who has both a request link and its code can open that request.
If you use SafeUpload for your company
- Ask only for information you have a legitimate reason to collect, and tell your customers why you need it and how you will use it.
- You are responsible for the documents you collect and for how you use them, including following the privacy and data protection laws that apply to you.
- Give access only to your own staff, and ask us to remove anyone who no longer needs it.
- A request is deleted automatically if nothing has been uploaded when its code runs out; everything else stays until you delete it. Delete requests once you no longer need what was sent, and download anything you must keep before you delete it.
If you are sending documents
- Send only what the company asked for, and only documents you are entitled to share.
- What you send goes to that company, not to us. For questions about why they need it or how they use it, contact the company.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- try to see requests, files or accounts that are not yours, or guess codes;
- upload malware or anything unlawful;
- probe, overload or disrupt the service, or get around its security or limits.
We may suspend access that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people's information at risk.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload. We use it only to run the service for the company that asked for it: storing it, showing it to that company's staff, and deleting it when asked. Our privacy policy explains how information is handled.
The service
We work to keep SafeUpload secure and available, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or improve features over time. It is provided "as is", and, as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for lost data.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. Using SafeUpload after a change means you accept the new terms.
